Gabon | Attaching a wig to the mannequin's head

Common tools for securing wigs to head molds include: pins, double-sided tape, Velcro, and hairspray.

Different materials and usage scenarios require different securing methods. For temporary displays, pins or hair clips can be used for quick fixation, while tape-based tools are more suitable for long-term styling. Having understood the background, let's move on to specific methods.

1. Pins or T-pins: These are the most commonly used tools, with the tips directly inserted into the head mold. For example, multiple U-shaped clips can be used to secure the hairline in a crisscross pattern, concealing it and preventing it from loosening. If the wig is heavy, a cross-shaped arrangement of steel pins can be added to the back of the head for added stability.

2. Double-sided tape/positioning tape: Residue-free double-sided tape is suitable for scenarios requiring frequent removal, such as when models change their hairstyles for commercial performances. Cut the tape into strips and apply them to the head mold's hairline, sideburns, and other stress points, pressing for 10 seconds after application. Be aware of adhesive residue; low-temperature removable tape is recommended.

3. Velcro Straps: For special head molds requiring additional reinforcement (such as those made of silicone), a loop strap can be added to the bottom of the head mold to fasten the adjustment strap of the wig's inner mesh. This method allows for tightness adjustment without damaging the wig's mesh base.
